Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the dads in our family.  We are so fortunately blessed to have such terrific fathers and father-to-be in our family.  They are good role models to all.  Men of good moral character and integrity.  They are valued members of our communities and serve others.  They are loving sons, husbands, brothers and dads.

This Father's Day...we honor you!

HaPpY Anniversary to Us

June 12, 1990~Greg and I plus our children became a family. Sarah was 4, Tiffany was 6 and Gregory was 8 years old.  We got married in a classroom at church by our bishop, Grady Barnes.  Mama, Daddy, Donnie and Dana were there from my side of the family.  Lottie, Phil, Phil Jr and David were there from Greg's side of the family.  Sarah held Greg's ring, Gregory held my ring and Tiff was responsible for the marriage license.  I worked that day.  It was a half workday at school.  The last day of school for me that year. Afterward, I got Tiff and Sarah.  We got our hair done.  We had up dos with flowers.  Then we met back at our little apartment to get dressed.  All 5 of us drove to Raleigh to the church.  The rest of the family met us there.  It was a very, very simple wedding ceremony just the way we wanted.

We've been through so much over the past 22 years!  Our family has been through many happy and sad times. Taylor was added to our family in 1995.  What a great addition.  We were all excited to have a baby in the family.  We had other normal milestones, graduations from both high school and college (Tay's a rising senior so of course she's a work in progress.); weddings which added Danielle, Clint and Ryan to the family.  Since those significant additions, came the birth of Baby Blake and the pending arrivial of Baby Hope is more evidence of our continually growing family.

Looking back our lives together, I can definitely say Life as the Dixons just keep getting bigger and better.  So thankful Heavenly Father continues to bless us richly.  To Greg, I love you, "more today than yesterday, more tomorrow than today" for always.

Family Visits...Love Them!

Today I realized Blake turned 4 months old today.  Geez....it seems like forever since I've held him, snuggled with him, changed and dressed him.  I sure do miss Sarah, Blake and Ryan.  I am so thankful I can pick up my phone and touch them so to speak.  I got to SKYPE with Sarah and Blake this afternoon.  It's the next best thing to actually being with them.  I can see them and talk with them.  I can hear them and see them!  I can see Blake's blue eyes and hear him laugh when Sarah tickles his tummy.  I can see him do tummy time on the blanket!  I just LOVE visiting with them.

Isn't he just precious?!?!?!

Tiffany flew in this week to take another CPA exam so we got to visit with her some too!  She came over for dinner and spent the night.  We all enjoyed getting caught up on the latest family stuff.  Dad fixed one of his famous BIG breakfasts, she and I got manis/pedis and she and Tay went out for lunch.  Having her home was so nice.

I love my family and love to visit with them whether it's by SKYPE, phone or in person.  Being connected in the lives of my family makes me so HaPpY!  Love them:)
