Updates on the Family

Mama, Daddy and Donnie left Pilot Mountain, NC early this morning to make the trek to Leesville, LA to visit Sarah, Ryan and meet Baby Blake.  Tiffany and Clint will be visited too during their stay this week.  ETA by Daddy's itinerary is Tuesday, noon.  Hopefully, they will all get along there and back on that long, long, long trip in the car.

Danielle is entering into her 21st week of pregnancy and seems to be doing well.  Ultrasound is scheduled for April 14th to determine if Baby Dixon will be a boy or girl.  Any guesses????  I'm thinking a girl.

Taylor continues to be extremely busy.  Along with her business come stress and anxiety.  Seminary, school and work take a toll on her.
She may be stressed but isn't she pretty!

Lottie was admitted into the hospital last Monday.  The case manager and hospital are trying to find a nursing home facility that provides rehab for her to stay at for a couple of weeks.  She's very emotional and Greg is dealing with the doctors, insurance companies, paying bills for her, balancing moneys, going to the hospital daily plus his usual responsibilities of work and home stuff.  He's a mess.

Sarah reported this morning that Blake had 2 really good nights sleeping and was all smiles this morning.

Now that's a happy baby...I bet Sarah's smiling too:)

Congrats Tiffany!!

Tiffany has been working of getting her CPA.  This is a very difficult thing to accomplish.  Tiffany has to take four exams and pass all of them.  Now these exams are very tough to pass.  It's my understanding that people have to retake some of these many times before passing.  She passed the first exam while Clint was in Afghanistan and recently took the second exam in February. Clint texted the family just this week letting us know that she got the results from the second exam and passed!!!  HOORAY, Tiff!  Tiffany has two more exams to take.  She is very smart and studies LOTS...I know she'll get her CPA in the very near future.  We are all so proud of her.

Congratulations, Tiffany!

Regular Routine

Since I've been back from LA, I have slowly gotten back in the regular routine of home and school activities.  Greg and Taylor were so supportive of me being gone with Blake arrived.  They took care of household responsibilities and did their work/school stuff too.  I appreciate all they did while I was gone.

Taylor has been so busy with Seminary, school, work at the YMCA after school care program at Jones Dairy, and trying to get homework done after that plus church on Wednesdays.  The poor girl is slammed.  I wish she had some time to just enjoy friends and goof off a little.  There is little to no wiggle room with her schedule.  We also expect her to pick up her room and bathroom.  It's hard growing up and learning how to juggle priorities and get everything done.  She's 16 years old and already dealing with so much stress.

Just this past Saturday, for example.  Taylor took the SAT.  On that same day, Seminary students were having Super Saturday, a dinner and dance.  (See what I mean about scheduling!)  That evening was also a time we had planned to go to Gregory and Danielle's for their church's annual dinner/theather fund raiser. She has very little time to spend with friends and I worry about that.  I know she needs social time with her friends.  Just time to relax, have fun and enjoy.  Oh, if only we could find a way to be in more than 1 place at a time!!!

Bless her heart, by the time Sunday got here, she was slammed with homework and projects.  She is holding her own with classes but 3 of her 4 classes are honors classes.  I hate that school has to be so difficult now.  Taylor is such a good girl.  She is spiritual, kind, caring and handles many roles.  We are very fortunate to have her as our daughter.

"Isn't she lovely...isn't she wonderful.."  (sing it Stevie Wonder)

Greg had to admit Lottie to the hospital on Monday, March 9th.  She is in a lot of pain and can barely move.  Through a series of tests (x-rays, CAT scans and MRI), they found she has broken a lumbar (disc).  She will be in the hospital and/or rehab facility for a while for physical therapy.  Unfortunately, her pain level is so unmanageable, she can't do therapy.  She's not happy about being away from home and gives the nurses, doctors and Greg a difficult time about wanting to go home.

So, life is back to a regular routine of family, home and school stuff.  It's a good life and I'm happy to say all is well with the Dixons.  We are very blessed:)

HaPpY Birthday, Sarah

Today we celebrate across 1,100 miles (give or take), Sarah's 26th birthday!  That's right, 26 years ago today at 4:23 p.m., Sarah Elizabeth made her debut at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC.  She weighed in at a whopping 6 pounds and 5 ounces, 19 1/2 inches long.  She had a headful of beautiful, alburn hair.  What a bundle of joy!!!  Words cannot describe the immediate surge of maternal insinct that burst through my body.  I loved her immediately.  I can honestly say, being a mother is the best (and hardest) job I have ever had.  It is a honor to be her mom!

Now on this 26th celebration of her birthday, she is a mother.  I can only hope and pray that Baby Blake will bring her the joy (and pain) that she has brought to me (hahah)!

HaPpY Birthday, Dear Sarah!  Love always and forever!!!!

Baby Boy or Baby Girl Dixon???

Last Thursday, March 1st, Gregory and Danielle had a check-up at the OB.  This wasn't a regular appointment...it was THE appointment.  The one which they could get the ultrasound done to determine the sex of the baby!!!  How exciting...finding out if Greg and I would have another grandson or the first granddaughter.
I got a call from Gregory that afternoon.  I was grocery shopping when I answered the phone.  He asked, "Would you like to know if you're having another grandson or a granddaughter?"  My response was, "of course, I'd like to know!"  Gregory:  "We'd like to know too!"  Evidently, the baby was a bit bashful and the ultrasound couldn't detect boy or girl parts.  They were so disappointed.  However, on a positive note, the baby is well and healthy!  We are so thankful for that!!!

Gregory and Danielle are trying to schedule another ultrasound to see if Baby Dixon is a Baby Boy or a Baby Girl:)

Can you tell if it's a boy or girl?
